History of the Club

Founded in 1946 by Derik Brooks, this club was first known as Swaythling Athletic and was later changed to Swaythling. They were founded in the Fleming Arms public house located in Swaythling, hence the name. The team started to play their home fixtures on Southampton Common, and after that, they switched to Westfield in Swaythling. The UK club joined the Hampshire League in 1950 and in 1957 they moved to their new ground located at Ten Acres, this site remains their home ground till this day.
The club was renamed to Eastleigh in 1980 and was one of the strongest teams in the Hampshire League. In the early 80s, the club marked its highest ever finish, ending the competition in 4th place. In 1981 they played their first FA Cup match and won 2-1 against Poole Town. They also went on to win in the next round against Melksham Town. Unfortunately, they were knocked out of the most prestigious UK Cup competition against Dorchester Town.
The club was accepted into the Wessex League in 1986 as one of the founding members. They managed to finish in 8th place in their first season. It took them quite a lot to beat that result, nearly ten years, when they finished 4th place in the season 95/96. In 2002 Paul Doswell was signed as manager and lead the team to three successive promotions.
The first one was in 02/03 when they won the Wessex league and with that got promoted to Division One East of the Southern League. The following year the team finished fourth, but they were lucky to get promoted due to the forming of Conference South and North. With that, they got transferred to the Premier Division of the Isthmian League. They managed to end the season in 3rd place the following year, which got them to qualify for promotion play-offs. They won the semi-final 2-0 against Braintree Town, and in the final, they won 2-1 against Leyton, thus gaining promotion to the Conference South. That very same season, they also won the Russell Cotes Cup against Gosport Borough, beating them 3-1. In the 2013/2014 season, Eastleigh won the Conference South and got promoted to the National League in UK, where they compete to this day. Although it is in the minor league, they are strongly supported by the uksbestcasinos.com site.
